Basic Universal Remote vs Logitech Harmony One

Logitech Harmony One Remote Review

The Harmony One remote is all touchscreen technology and is quite sensitive to the touch. One of my favorite things about the logitech harmony one , is all you have to do is press the activities button to watch TV. There is a button on the touch screen that says watch TV. For example, if you listen to music on the Harmony one touch screen remote it turned on my HDMI switcher, my TV, the Apple TV on, and my home theater and entertainment center. This was all possible right from the remote because it will update and download the necessary infrared codes itself. It automatically controls the Apple TV without having to set up anything. This is a very nice feature on the Harmony one remote.

If I want to play my PS3, I tap the game function on the touch screen, and it will automatically switch everything to the right input without having to do it myself. Also, the Harmony one remote is completely rechargeable. It comes with a rechargeable station that simply sets into the station. The remote powers down once it's set into its recharging station which is a very nice feature. The Harmony one slips into the charging station and says I'm charging. The Logitech Harmony One remote is very easy to control. If for some reason the device doesn't perceive the infrared signal you can hit the help button on the Harmony one, and it will automatically fix the problem for you. For some reason if that doesn't fix the problem, the logitech Harmony one remote will ask your series of questions in order to clarify that you set everything up properly. For example, is the audio switch on, as the amp on, is the TV on, etc. The remote goes through a series of questions if it is not working properly which is a nice feature on a remote. With the standard universal remote you would have to read a large paper sheet that would instruct you on how to program the remote on all its default features. With the Harmony one remote and its software, you simply have to go into the software and add a new device. Next, you have to find the model number of the device you want to add, for example, a cable box by Motorola, update the remote and the Harmony one will tell you and give you a list of a bunch of functions that you never knew existed with your cable box. Pretty neat and thanks for reading this tutorial and I suggest you purchase a Harmony one remote for its sleek design as well.
